Here at Lamson Institute our students come first. Our mission doesn’t end with providing quality, hands-on career training to our students. Our main goal is to help our students find rewarding entry-level jobs in their field of study upon program completion.
The process of career readiness begins the moment a prospective student walks through the doors of Lamson Institute for the first time. When a prospective student first visits Lamson, they will sit down with one of our experienced admissions representatives to determine which program that we offer is best suited for the individual. In this first meeting the admissions representative will ask about goals, interests, and passions to discover which program is the best fit. The prospective student will then meet with our financial aid team to see if they qualify for federal financial support.
Identifying the best program for a prospective student is only the beginning of the career readiness process at Lamson Institute. As students get closer to completing their studies they will experience additional career guidance and advising. At Lamson Institute, we work to maintain close and open communication with our students. If a Lamson student needs help–vocational or academic–they can easily find access to faculty and administrative staff members who are ready to assist them.
As our students near graduation, they will encounter even more specialized career services and professional support. It is at this point that we help Lamson students begin the early phases of their search for employment. Some of the services we offer at this point include:
- Professional development
- Individualized job placement advising
- Resume and cover letter preparation assistance
- Interview practice
- Career fairs
- And more
The reason for these career services is to help make transition into the professional world as smooth as possible for our graduates. Of course, the primary reason students enroll at Lamson Institute in the first place is to find rewarding entry level work after program completion. And it is for this reason that we take so much pride in our career services department.
One of the things that really distinguishes our career services department is that our commitment to our students’ success doesn’t end when they graduate and find their first job–we are here throughout the course of their entire career. If a Lamson graduate needs help finding a new job in their field of study years after program completion, we are here to support them.
So if you are serious about getting the training and support you need to start a rewarding new career and you live in the San Antonio area, Lamson Institute has resources to help you.
